Jack’s Magazine Channel area is part of a heritage site in Maribyrnong on the banks of the Maribyrnong River. The surrounding area is better known for river corridors, parklands, trails, and open green spaces than for formal botanical gardens, which gives it a distinctive mix of industrial heritage and natural landscape.
Overall, the parks and gardens near Jack’s Magazine are best understood as part of a connected river landscape rather than as standalone formal gardens. Their appeal lies in the combination of heritage, open space, trail access, and river scenery, making the area well suited to visitors who want a quiet outdoor setting with historical character.
Our major goal for this area this year is to help add 6,250 plants for National Tree Day,
